Terms of Service
Client agreement
The acceptance of an online or face to face consultation will be regarded as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Confidentiality, supervision and records
Therapy can involve disclosure of sensitive/personal information, so confidentiality is essential. In order to protect your right to privacy the information you disclose to your sleep practitioner/therapist will remain confidential between the parties. I am bound by my professional codes of conduct as defined by my accrediting organisation, which includes responsibility to manage your information confidentially and in accordance with GDPR.
We would always attempt to speak to you before breaking confidentiality. In addition to situations in which you give consent for information you have disclosed to be shared with a third party, there are certain situations in which your I may be required to break confidentiality without your consent:
Where I am compelled to by regulation or law; or
Where the information is of such gravity that confidentiality cannot be maintained. This includes instances in which I consider in my sole discretion the client or others could be in immediate danger; or
Where the situation concerns a safeguarding issue regarding the welfare of a young person aged less than 18.
Supervision - all therapists are required by their profession to have regular supervision sessions where they discuss aspects of their clinical work. In such supervisions, therapists do not reveal individual identities during these sessions and supervision itself is confidential between therapist and supervisor.
Record keeping - therapists typically find it useful to keep some notes on your sessions. These tend to be brief and help to keep track of topics themes covered in therapy. These notes are kept anonymously, and in accordance with GDPR.
Contact
We will respond to your emails within 48 hours. During the week emails will usually be responded to within 24 hours. If you are in one of our packages including follow-up sessions, we will respond to emails that take less than 10 minutes to reply. If it will take longer than 10 minutes to write the email, your next follow-up session will be brought forward so we can spend some time discussing the issue in detail.
Payment and fees
The fee for your consultation or session must be paid in advance of the appointment.
If the appointment is cancelled the following terms and conditions apply
*Cancelled with less than 24 hours notice - no refund
*More than 24 hours notice - fully refunded, with a 50% fee if the booking is not rescheduled.
*If there is a cancelation due to you or your child being sick, there will be no charge for cancelation as long as the same service is being rescheduled to a later date
*If we need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, the appointment offer will be rescheduled
With our sleep packages, the support period lasts for the designated time post-consultation (unless an alternative date has been agreed otherwise). If the support is not accessed by the client, there is no refund available. Unused support may not be “banked” and taken at a later date.
We will work hard to help you achieve the results you desire. However, there is no 100% guarantee that our intervention will be successful. We recommend sticking to any advice given for the best possible outcome.
To protect against banking fraud, there are no circumstances in which I would direct you to change accounts to which fees are paid without speaking to you in person or on the telephone.
Ethical practice
I follow a code of ethical conduct approved by the UK HCPC (Health and Care Professional Council), with whom I am registered.
Complaints
Please contact us should you wish to discuss any aspect of your care or this Agreement. If you are unable to resolve any queries or issues with me directly, please contact the HCPC. Sessions that cannot be completed due to technical problems on your side (including, but not limited to, lost internet connection) will be charged as normal.
